Since Mardi Gra is upon us, I decided to show the perfect nail polish for this occasion. It is Opi's Rainbow Connection.
If you don't know already, I will be heading off to Vegas tomorrow. I decided to go get a pedicure with my mom before heading off. It was a perfect opportunity to take a closer look at the Brazil Collection (If you haven't seen my article on it, check it out on the Beauty page). I decided to go with AmazON... AmazOFF. It was a bit dark for what I was going for but I must say, it is a gorgeous color.
To kick off this post I just wanted to say how excited I am for all the upcoming posts (and plus I little something special for March). These products below have helped me control my acne. One product that I didn't mention in here is Oxy. I haven't used it for a while because I wasn't noticing much of a difference, but it did do wonders for some of my bigger acne-prone spots on my face. And in all honestly, Clearasil isn't all it's cracked up to be. It does help, but it does not offer the immediate relief like it says in advertisements (but that is completely expected).
Aveeno Naturals were the first products I used when I first started to wash my face. I just recently started to use their moisturizer. These are both great products for evening your tone and brighten your face. I would not recommend using this product if you have really bad acne. I feel this product is mostly for maintaining a clear face and brightening/evening the tone of your face.
I was so excited when I was blog-surfing and saw a post by Chalkboard Nails about the Opi Brazil collection. If you haven't seen what the new colors will be, take a look.
I have to that I am not the biggest fan of the reds and orange colors but it is perfect for the theme of Brazil. It makes me wish I was on the beach. I am; however, very impressed with the bottom row that you see in the picture. I think of all the colors, Next Stop... The Bikini Zone (bottom left) is my favorite. What do you think?
As a normal person, I get acne. Don't most people? As a treatment, I decided to resort to a face mask I found on Pinterest. (Check out my Pinterest page for other masks like this.) All you will need is some baking soda and water. Mix together in a small container until it becomes a paste. You can spread it on your face or use it as a spot treatment.
I had my doubts that this wouldn't work. After taking it off after about ten minutes, I did notice a big difference. The redness of my face was at a minimal. I have few bad spots on my face, but those spots' swelling had gone down. The baking soda also serves as an exfoliant so my face even felt softer afterward. My acne looked so much better - as good as acne can look - and I was so much happier. I encourage anyone with my problem to try this mask. It works miracles!
Since we are beginning to transition over to winter and the holiday season, I decided to go with a deep red. I highly suggest this Opi color because not only is this a great color, their brand is high quality with a smooth finish that can be bought at most drugstores. Every time I look at it, all I can think about are those catalogs that I used to get around the holidays that had party dresses this exact color.
Dark nails are the ongoing trend from fall, but instead of going matte, go for a glossy finish to add some shine to your look. If you're going to a party with your family or friends, pair this with sheer black tights, a red skater skirt, and a jacket of your choice (depending on where you live).
